Position Overview

The primary responsibility of a Snapology Instructor—also known as a Snapologist—is to lead engaging, hands-on programs at our Dover Discovery Center and partner locations throughout the region.

Using LEGO® bricks, robotics technology, and other creative learning materials, Snapologists help children develop creativity, teamwork, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills while exploring S.T.E.A.M. concepts: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and training are provided to help every instructor succeed. Programs are offered for children ages 2–14, although instructors are not necessarily required to teach every age group.

Instructors must be willing and able to travel to partner locations throughout our territory, including Barrington, Dover, Durham, Lee, Madbury, Newmarket, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Rollinsford, and Somersworth.

This position requires strong collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership and fellow team members. Snapologists must also represent our organization to children, families, and community partners with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism.

  • Encourage students to participate, collaborate, problem-solve, and try new things

  • Monitor individual student progress and adjust teaching strategies when needed

  • Prepare for each program by reviewing curriculum, watching training videos, organizing materials, and participating in training sessions

  • Communicate professionally with parents and caregivers regarding Snapology programs

  • Help families learn about additional Snapology classes, camps, workshops, and events

  • Participate in periodic staff meetings and training sessions, as required

  • Organize, clean, and properly maintain Snapology materials, inventory, classrooms, and equipment

  • Follow all Snapology safety, supervision, and operating procedures

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience working with children in a classroom, camp, childcare, recreation, or group setting

  • A degree or coursework in education is preferred but not required

  • Ability to create and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Dependable, organized, energetic, and comfortable leading groups of children

  • Ability to report to scheduled shifts consistently and punctually

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to local partner locations

Available Programs May Include:

  • Weekday, after-school and evening classes

  • Weekend workshops, classes and birthday parties

  • School-vacation and summer camps

  • Special events and holiday workshops

  • Programs held at schools, recreation departments, childcare centers, and other community partner locations
