Position:

The primary focus of a volunteer will be to assist in teaching Snapology programs. Volunteers are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14.

Role & Responsibilities

Assist Snapology Instructors as they lead groups through curriculum-guided activities;
Monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;
Aid in Management of student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures;
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology;
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies;
Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs;
Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs;

Qualifications

Criminal and vulnurable sector check must be current
Desire to work with children
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Programs Available To Volunteer

After-school (September – May)* 1-2 hours in length and occurs between 1:20 – 4:00pm Monday-Friday
Evening Classes* 1-2 hours in length and occur between 5:00 – 9:00pm Monday-Friday
Weekend Workshops* 2-4 hours in length and occur on Friday, Saturday or Sunday
Summer Camps (June – August)* 1.5-7 hours in length and occurs between 9am – 5pm Monday-Friday
Birthday Parties* 2 hours in length and occurs on Friday, Saturday or Sunday
Special Events* 1-8 hours in length and can occur anytime
