Position:
This position is PART TIME, 10 to 25 hours per week.
The primary focus of this position will be to assist the primary teacher that is teaching Snapology programs in the form of after school and evening classes, workshops, half and full day camps, birthday parties and custom events. Additionally, the Teaching Assistant will also coordinate and inventory supplies needed for Snapology programs.

Teaching Assistants are asked to aide teachers with preparation, transportation and setup/clean up of materials required for class; general administrative and teaching tasks (name tags, passing out handouts, etc.); and assist children with basic tasks like clean up of their building materials. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Teachers and Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism. This position does have the potential for promotion to a teaching role with time and experience.

Role & Responsibilities:

Support and assist the primary teacher with leading groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
Supply management (inventory, transport, organize) for materials and supplies needed for programs
Monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment and provide minor assistance as needed
Assist the primary teacher with classroom management and any disciplinary actions (i.e. time out for a child) as needed and directed by the primary teacher
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and provide information to the primary teacher
Handle basic inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs and direct them to leadership for additional information
Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required

Qualifications:

Criminal and Child Clearances must be current (or okay to obtain)
Some experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Attention to detail

Programs/Activities:

Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
Summer camps
Special events, holiday and break workshops

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, part time teaching assistants may work between 5-20 hours per week.

Compensation: $17.00 per hour
